Practice makes perfect!

All of our movie sections use original dialogue. While this is a great way to get used to the natural pace of native Chinese speakers, we also realize the need to break it down into parts. Therefore, in addition to the regular film dialogue, there are standard listening and speaking practices following each film. Recorded by native Chinese speakers, these include: movie dialogue, individual words and additional related sentences.

The Dialogue section repeats the dialogue of the Movie, line by line, with both text and audio files. The texts are presented in Pinyin, Chinese Characters and English translation with “show” or “hide” options allowing you to choose how much help you need. For lessons in level one, the audio includes both regular and slow speeds, to help improve listening comprehension.

The Words section includes both of key words from the movie dialogue as well as supplementary words, in Chinese Character, Pinyin and English translation with audio. Words can be saved with our ‘bookmark’ feature in your own personal online dictionary for later review.

The Speak section is your opportunity to practice the words and dialogue you have been hearing so far in the lesson. Using typical examples of sentences, allowing you to display a choice Pinyin, Chinese Characters and English, this is your chance to master the key words and phrases from the lesson.

Finally, an Exercises section rounds off your lesson. It includes four types of interactive exercises, with matching audio with pinyin, characters, and pictures, multiple choice questions and spoken dialogue, all related to the dialogue, words and speaking practice you have just completed. This will help you figure out how well you have done and see if you are ready for the next lesson.
